The Institute of Oil & Gas Research & Hydrocarbon Studies (IOGRHS) will hold the “Oil & Gas Public Lecture Series “Abuja 2020” with the theme “OIL & GAS CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE” on Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Conference Hall, Nicon Luxury Abuja, Nigeria by 4 pm.

The 2020 public lecture is organized to discuss issues around oil and gas critical infrastructure, especially as the Nigerian Nation works towards the crystallization of the Petroleum industry bill (PIB). The Institute believes that when the petroleum industry bill (PIB) is finally passed into law, oil and gas companies (Local and International) will massively invest in the Nigerian petroleum space. These investors will have to build critical infrastructure and this will open-up business opportunities for finance, insurance, exploration, consulting, development, production, fabrication, refining, transportation, environmental management, drilling, trading companies, etc. The Institute also thinks that the security and protection of the existing oil and gas critical infrastructure are crucial. Oil and gas producing (Host) communities shall see improvement in infrastructure development and youth employment. This lecture is designed to be a concourse for cross ventilation of ideas. The chosen faculty is drawn from the academic, security experts, petroleum industry investors, asset acquisition professionals, oil and gas legal practitioners.

The lecture plans to discuss asset acquisition, low-cost project finance, facilities engineering design, equipment design, fabrication, construction and installation. The gathering will attempt to offer solutions on the power supply and other infrastructure matters. The Institute shall also carry out the implementation of the African Oil & Gas Globe Awards 2020 and awardees are please expected to be seated by 4 pm prompt. Organizations planning to display their products at the apron of the Nicon Luxury Hotel should please be kind to inform the Institute in writing so that the Organising Committee can make adequate provision for the same.
