- THE INSTITUTE
The Institute of Oil & Gas Research & Hydrocarbon Studies is a multilateral research and a not-for-profit educational institution established under CAM Act 1 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990 and approved by Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Justice. The public lecture provides a platform for policy makers and researchers, on an annual basis, to meet, rub minds and discuss pertinent development issues that is trending or occurring in the oil and gas sector. - OBJECTIVE
The 2018 oil and gas public lecture seeks to bring together interest groups including Government Organisations, Academia, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Players in the sector to discuss the recently passed Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) by both the Senate and House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It offers the chance to meet plenty of top executives and CEOs around the world in one single room to deliberate short and long term benefits of the petroleum industry governance law and the implications for growth and development of Nigerian economy. It will also provide an opportunity for networking – farm-in and farm-out partnership, financing, consulting and capital investment, advisory including understanding the business space in the sector. - INVITATION
The Institute of Oil & Gas Research & Hydrocarbon Studies is therefore inviting individuals, government agencies, academics and other interest groups to participate in the 2018 oil and gas public lecture. - GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS
Interested persons who wish to make presentations should submit an abstract of not more than 250 words outlining major findings and strategy for taking advantage of the petroleum industry governance law, recommendations and conclusions to the Chairman, Vetting Committee and Chairman of Council: Prof. Akin Akindoyeni mni, OFR to the address below. The deadline for submission of abstract is by 5pm on Friday May 4 2018. Full papers of accepted abstract and slides for presentation should be submitted by e-mail in MS Word and MS Powerpoint respectively by Friday May 11 2018.
